New picture book by André Kuipers: Help, dieren in gevaar!
In May 2026, astronaut and author André Kuipers released his new picture book, Help, dieren in gevaar! The book is the sequel to De kleine astronauten redden de dieren, which was published in November 2023. This new adventure once again carries an important message: saving animals on Earth from space – it can be done!
In Help, dieren in gevaar!, the Little Astronauts André and Valentina return. Together with their friend Stella, who is a ranger, they once again spring into action to help animals in need. This time, they come to the rescue of a baby orangutan, a jaguar and a polar bear.
From space, the Little Astronauts look down at our planet and discover not only where animals are in danger, but also just how beautiful and vulnerable our Earth is. André Kuipers combines his fascination with space with his love for nature, introducing young readers to themes such as sustainability, nature conservation and wildlife protection in an adventurous and accessible way.
A sequel to De kleine astronauten redden de dieren
The new picture book follows De kleine astronauten redden de dieren, published in November 2023. In their first adventure, André and Valentina joined Stella and her grandfather, both rangers, to help animals in need. Among them were a dolphin caught in a fishing net, a herd of elephants stampeding towards a village and a panda that had become lost as a result of deforestation.
With Help, dieren in gevaar!, their wildlife adventures continue, featuring new animals, new challenges and once again a unique view of our extraordinary planet from space.
The picture book is beautifully and lovingly illustrated by Paco Vink and is aimed at young explorers aged 4 and up. The book was developed in collaboration with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).
André Kuipers has been a WWF ambassador for twenty years and donates the proceeds from the book to WWF. In this way, Help, dieren in gevaar! not only shares an important message about protecting our planet, but also makes a tangible contribution to protecting wildlife and nature.
